People how many rolls your bank can give to you? My tellers are giving me bad looks if I get more than a box of pennies per week. If there are a way to get really a lot of coins regularly? Do u have to have sort of ' business" account or something?

Try talking to the vault manager (or the person who does the coin ordering) and explain that you are collecting cents and see if that person will just order whatever you need each week in addition to whatever they routinely need. That way they have plenty of what you want for you as well as enough for them. Good luck!

Ihave found that if you just explain to them that you are a collector, the funny looks go away and they are very nice.:)
They don't ofen ask any more questions, but they will be more uinderstandable next time.:)

Opened a new roll of Nevada state quarters today and one of the coins (and only one) was a very nice slate gray in color. Both sides and perfectly struck. It has what appears as full layers of copper/nickel on both sides and the normal pure copper core. The dang thing almost looks like a gun metal finish. Any one ever run across any thing like this in your searches?:kewl:

I'd like to see it too. I really like the gun metal or slate grey color on coins. I thought it took a long time to get that way.

I got a 1971 s Lincoln cent in change yesterday. not worth much but i don't see many s mint in circulation and I was surprised by the condition, it's as close to uncirculated as you can get out of a cash register. It is full red, full luster with very few marks.

I received a 1943 P steel penny in change at my local Shell gas station while on the way to my local coin shop to purchase Dansco albums. I asked the clerk if he knew what it was and he just thought it was an old brass coin! Not that it is worth much, but still fun to find a steel penny in change!! And of course it was corroded badly. I dipped it into some cleaner and was suprised by the detail it still had. I am sure that is due to the steel.

I just found a 1993-P quarter with a grease filled error. A lot of the “in god we trust” is filled in but still legible and the letters LI_ _ _ _Y are missing from LIBERTY. It’s a "BERT" quarter.
