This was probably buried somewhere for many years. It was so rusted and corroded that i couldnt see ANY details at all, I placed this in a mixture of vinegar, salt, and lemon juice for 90 minutes and then scrubbed it with a Q-tip and baking soda. Pretty sure someone drilled a hole in it, then twisted a screw through it. Very, very strange...
Can I ask where you got it? I would have posted it here first for opinions, before doing that. Oh well. Not that it makes much difference at this point.
Interesting... sometimes when the price of washers exceeded 1 cent, or a person lacked the amount necessary, they would use a coin as an alternative. this was common place in the late 19th century
My home addition requires large screws for retaining a doubled wall. The cost for the large retainer washer at the hardware store was over $2 , so I used up a lot of the non-silver Ikes ( Yes I checked for varieties ) worked fine. I was sure even a few large nails would have done, but I keep wondering what they would think many years from now when they are discovered. Jim
That's like the Nerf gun of nail guns. Now if you showed a Hilti we'd be talking about the AR15 of nail guns
Hilti makes some great guns. The early high velocity ones were fun to shoot but are no longer legal on a job site.
being that zincolns were copper plated zinc...why not? Cheap washer lol! I would trust it with something my life depended on but for an appliance like a washing machine or some odd item, cool!
