Wow, that was a good catch jackeen! I can tell now that I look closer at the bill. The words ONE typed in small print in boxes on bottom of note are both whitened-out too. And there is a small ONE design ro the right of that empty box too. I probably never would have noticed that myself. I love this site!!!!!

I'd grade the $50 as VF based on the images, and value it as at least $150. Maybe more if it's better looking in person. There were only 84,000 Chicago stars issued for Series 1928, and $50's of that era were less likely to survive than $100's.

I really like the altered "10" dollar note! It may not be worth what some of the others are, but to me that is the most interesting piece in the group. It isn't the best workmenship, but it has more class than simply glueing the corners of ten dollar bills on like they do today. (Yes I've seen that done, and I've seen them successfully passed!)

Nice notes , I would say your $50. G-* is bumping the $200 range as some have said their aren't many of those . The 4 1928 $100.'s in EF would go for around $175 ea. , most of the other $50.'s depending on cond. will run in the $75 and up range . The 1928 $20.'s in EF cond. will go around$50.-$75., and the $10.'s from $35.-$75.

Nationals 1929 $100. in VF around $175.-$200. , and the $20.'s all fairly common will go from $60.-$80. depending on cond. unless of coarse any of these are CH-CU then that's a whole diff. story on value !

Will look up some other prices on the other notes later .

The 1929 Elmonte CA is a more scarce CA note should be worth a bit more !!

Are these Nats. Type-1 or Tyoe-2 , t-1 has the charter # on it twice and the t-2 have it on them 4 times .

Not sure what a Charter # is but there are 2 bold black numbers running vertically on both ends of bill. Is that what you are talking about. I will post a new thread tomorro on my National Notes.

That would make it a Type-1 . In general not worth as much as t-2's unless it is a rare note !!!;)
