Hello friends on the Ancients forum. This is Ancient #15 in my collection Today I want to share the first of three new ancient coins that have come into my possession. Indo-Skythians Vonones with Spalahores as Viceroy 75 - 60 BC First picture is with normal light Second picture is with flash If anyone can tell me which is the Obverse and the Reverse I will appreciate it! I also want to thank a special CoinTalk member who gifted me this coin and two others I will soon create threads for.. Thanks again @LaCointessa You are so very kind!
Nice one! The side with Heracles holding the club is the obverse I believe. I have a square Indo-Scythian coin that FFIVN and I picked up a couple years ago at the Baltimore Whitman Show: Apollodotos I c174-165 BC AR Drachm of Indian weight standard Obverse: Elephant standing right; monogram below Reverse: Zebu bull standing right; monogram below
I didn't get it from the dealer and probably never will. The 3 coins were gifted to me My next Ancient coins I will pick up at the next NYINC coin show!
