Hello friends on the Ancients forum.
This is Ancient #15 in my collection :woot:

Today I want to share the first of three new ancient coins that have come into my possession.

    Indo-Skythians
    Vonones with Spalahores as Viceroy
    75 - 60 BC

First picture is with normal light

If anyone can tell me which is the Obverse and the Reverse I will appreciate it!

I also want to thank a special CoinTalk member who gifted me this coin and two others I will soon create threads for..
    Thanks again @LaCointessa
You are so very kind! :joyful:

    Nice one!
The side with Heracles holding the club is the obverse I believe.

I have a square Indo-Scythian coin that FFIVN and I picked up a couple years ago at the Baltimore Whitman Show:

Nice coin, but watch out for that dealer. He's a known miscreant.

I didn't get it from the dealer and probably never will. The 3 coins were gifted to me ;)

My next Ancient coins I will pick up at the next NYINC coin show!

LOL, The Dealer (JAZ Numismatics) is the Miscreant @John Anthony :) He spake with you.

I have always liked square coins…

As listed on your tag, the Greek side is usually considered the obverse.

heh heh.. John Anthony was the dealer....JAZ Numismatics -- the JA stands for John Anthony. He has auctions right here on CT and you can sign up to get notifications. You can learn a great deal about ancient coins by reading his informative write ups on the coins he auctions. Maybe @John Anthony will send you an invitation to get notifications on CT. Lots of great coins at excellent prices.
