Hey thanks for the info. I havent tried to bury any coins yet, but I have been sitting them ontop of the ground then going over them.

I have some great spots that I can try. Today I went to the old apple cider mill and thats where I found the license plate. My grandmother remembers when they burnt the place down when she was a little girl. Which would prob be right around 1940. Anyhow, I think the cider mill was in operation from the early 1800s till it burned. It was right at the edge of the old road and they sold to anyone passing by who decided to stop. They were selling apples, apple cider, and apple Jack. Looking at the foundation, I cant quite figure out where their concession stand window would have been, but I can tell where the parking lot was and theres still a few hitching posts. So I think I have a good idea of where to focus. But I think Im going to have to drag alot of the equipment aside and give it a try where Im thinking the concession window was.

Besides that place, I know of 10 different foundations on my cousins property and 3 on my grandmothers. All of those have been there a long time. If I found anything at any of those spots, it would be early 1800s. But the next spot Id like to try is my buddies fathers house. He lives right in the center of town and his house was built in 1740. The house is still standing and that place has some history. George Washington used to stay in that house. And I have permission to try my luck there, so when I do Ill post my finds.
