Like swish said, with US coins, the word Liberty is about the first grading metric we go by. 3 letters make the coin a Very Good, while the entire 7 lettes make it Fine. This particular 1883 looks to be at least Very Fine and probably closer to Extremely Fine or XF.

You got a nice example of an Indian Head Cent for a good price.
