I would give it a few baths in acetone and a fresh holder and let it be.

 

That's definately the best approach. The verdigris is heavy and removing it will destroy what's left of the coin. As it is now, it actually has a nice character to it that I like. Dehydrate the corrorsion with acetone and put it into an airtite. It should be fine for decades.
