Hobo, Harshly cleaned,Definitely, The only reason I happen to know anything about that coin was when I saw that gouge under a loupe in the coin shop. I noticed that it was raised instead of incuse. Then the adventure began. It took me the better part of two weeks to track it down. There are not many shots of that one out there if you do not know the right words to search for. I was searching for "Black Eye Indian" "War Paint Indian" :goofer:Some how I accidentally ran across one of Rick Snow's pictures.and figured it out. That is how I even learned about Rick Snow and his expertise in the area of Indian Head Cents and Flying Eagle Cents. Of course I knew about EagleEye on the forums but had no idea that they were one and the same. :eek:That particular coin stuck very well in my head. robbudo, I did not know that Snow had a variety book out Thank You very much for that. Did not know that, I think I need to get a copy of that book it would make identifying the next Indian Head much easier. My main area of study is Eisenhower Dollars. This one was harder than most of my Ike's to Identify. I learned something new today also this is a 3-star variety, meaning "A highly sought aver variety with a premium between 3X and 5X (the value of the coin without the error)" Thank You for that also Terry
