It's taken me a while to figure out what I was doing wrong but finally got it I think. I would like opinions on this 1863 Indian cent. I didn't pay much for it not sure if real or fake. Compared to my others it's just to nice.
It strikes me as odd. Very mushy Liberty. Base of the letters in United. I could be wrong. The best value I can add is I recommend not buying things if you are not sure they are real or not. At least I would not. Edit: her lips also look very weird.
This is 1 of my favorites. The person I bought it from had it as AU 4 diamond. Next to my other Indians it just looks to clean I guess. I just recently got interested in them. Most of my collection falls in the silver catagory
I think it's suspect because the dentils from 9 to 12 on the obverse look malformed and pitted in places. Overall appearance of the obverse to me anyway is rather mushy. Can you post a sharper photo of the reverse, and /or a closer photo of the upper left dentils?
Nice coin. but maybe too nice. check your dimensions, If you have a caliper. if not ,weigh it. if you have a gram scale. you can easily check the weight, and dimentions with a google search, and see if it matches your coin. I found out today I had a fake. by another member here. Chinese and Russian counterfeits are rampant. do some research before purchase if posssible
Considering the Coin, the Photography and maybe the price. I think you did very good. Nice coin I wouldn't mine having in my collection. Dave
Nice coin, but I don't see the 4 diamonds. Weight, diameter and thickness would help to authenticate it.
It checks out. I thought same thing when I 1st opened the package. It's maybe .002 grams shy. Think that's still within tolerance as far as weight goes.
Nah. You're closer to Colorado than I am, and I ain't done that stuff for ages........Bourbon's better.
yes, I would think.002 would qualify as normal loss of material due to wear. congrats nice one. oops sorry Smojo. didn't mean to jump on your post
