Time to wake up this thread again. VS1920/AD1873 (or 1863?) Kutch AR kori, Pragmalji II/Queen Victoria.
This arrived today. I have yet to identify, but think it is from India. A thick coin that weighs about 16.6g.
That weight makes me think it is an AE Takka, or two paisas. I just did some searching on zeno and did not find any close match. I will keep looking. Neat looking coin, I agree it looks like Indian, maybe Mughal Empire.
One Jittal, who, I have been told, might be Khwarezmian Empire. 1220-1231: Jital - Jalal ad-Din Mangubarni. ‘Horse and Bull’ Jital. - In that case, not sure it belongs here... And one I cannot properly identify other than Mughal India. 1858/1859 This is the first time I have visited cointalk in around a year (been very busy), so I check it out again and think "hey, I can contribute to that thread!".
VS1951, nice, silver, I do not have one (yet). Here is a rupee from Baroda, AH1244 Ry.24, (AD1829). I should do a better picture of this one.
Sultanate of Delhi Gold Tanka of Alauddin Khalji (minted at the Hadrat Delhi mint sometime between 1296 and 1316):
That is a stunning museum piece, and no doubt quite pricey. All my Kushans are very worn coppers. Here is one, Vima Kadphises, AE Tetradrachm, c.100-128 AD
Wow, you got me beat. Most I ever paid for a coin was maybe $500-$600. Other than buying gold bullion coins, I mean. Perhaps you know of panzer man? He is into high quality gold also, huge collection.
