Krause is an alternate reality far far away from the market in india where the prices are dropping not going up

    No doubt.

But I'd wager they're dropping from prices higher than what Krause reports and, I'd wager
the decreases are affectiung the older and silver coins more than the newer and base metal
    coinage.

I really like Indian coins and was surprised to see how much they were selling for on fee-bay.

    Current Prices in India

I am a collector from India. The prices of Proof sets in India have increased exponentially over the years. Though the latest Krause lists a very high price for these sets but the current prices are actually lower than that. I am attaching two images here which give out the current dealer prices for these sets. Mind you that this list is two years old and the prices have meanwhile increased by around 15-20% of those given in this list. Also keep in mind that these prices are given in Rupees when the dollar was trading at 55 Rupees to a dollar. With the recent fall of Rupee (exchange rate of 59 Rupees per dollar), the prices should be accordingly adjusted.
