1960P-DDO-010 http://varietyvista.com/01b LC Doubled Dies Vol 2/1960PDDO010.htm 1960P-1DO-006 http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1960&die_id=1960p1do006&die_state=mds 1960P-WDDO-005 http://doubleddie.com/305001.html It's beat up from circulation, but a DDO is a DDO. VV lists it as a Class 6, Coppercoins as a Class 2+6, and Wexler as a Class 2. I agree with Coppercoins. It has a minor Class 2 spread towards the center, but I can only see it on the tail of the 9 on this coin. WE & TRUST are pretty beat up. All the letters & numbers exhibit the overall thickness associated with a Class 6. Note the die chip in the R of TRUST as a major marker for all 3 listings. Note the die scratches around the date when comparing to Coppercoins. The scratches have faded some as it is a slightly later die state than the Coppercoins example, but an earlier strike than the Stage B on Variety Vista (no chip in the B of LIBERTY. Thanks for looking gang!
Those are such nice pictures, for a moment i thought you were taking a picture of a die. Those devices appear to be valleys not mountain if you just glance at it lol Nice find
The fat tail on the 9 is the big deal in the Class 6 coins. Your second picture shows a plausible Class 6-type 9, although, I have to say, it's a pretty thin one, as far as those go. You want a 9 like the one in the 1943 for the money in a good Class 6.
Same thing just clips. Mine has a magnet ring that sticks to the phone. http://m.ebay.com/itm/3-in1-Fish-Ey...%3A0809364015e0ab1c8c529205fff0986e%7Ciid%3A1
There we go. When I get a chance I'll hijack (lol) your thread and show off my 1926. I was surprised when I found it and now I'm even more surprised to see yours, an even earlier one! At least I think mine is one. I found it years ago and I couldn't match it to anything, then.
@jay4202472000, here you go, only half-decent pictures I could find, really. My kid has the coin, and these pictures were taken years ago, and definitely before anybody here had the "doubled die fever." I still don't really know on this but we have it classified as a 1926 Class 6 just the same (one can hope, lol)...
No mark, it's just a little Philly. Really is an obese one, though, lol. I just wish it weren't so darn worn.
Hey @jay4202472000 I'm trying to study your 1960 d ddo. I'm trying to figure out where to look for the ddo. In the picture below is two aarow, what color aarow is the ddo? Or are they both?
Eddie, I would love to see a few images zoomed out a little if you ever get a chance. I don't care when it is, make sure to tag me if you get to take some. I would like to see the entire date, all of LIBERTY, and especially WE. I don't want to claim it is for sure a DDO. I have seen some really worn coins, but that is WIDE. If it does turn out to not be wear, and is a DDO, it will probably take over as king of the class 6 doubled dies. The date is thicker than the 1943. Liberty doesn't have the trail like distortion, but who knows. Also note the similarities of the bottom of the 1. I would send it to Wiles or Wexler. If it is a DDO, it would be a big discovery. Dang I wish you had more images. Look at the bottom of the 1: http://www.lincolncentresource.com/doubledies/1943ddo1.html
Jay, that's an offer I can't refuse. You're willing to wait it out and give me an opinion on it when I can get those pictures here, I'll tag you. Thanks!
