I saved this in honor of my 29,000th post. This is one of the Bust Halves I have added to my collection as I purchased this last December and it's a beauty. An 1808 with a crack and toning. It's graded F-15 and it's listed as an O-110 in Overton's Book. In the book it's a rarity 5 but it has been regraded to a rarity 4. The crack is obvious, just to the left of the first star at the top by LIBERTY'S cap, best seen in the last photo. The toning is on the reverse and it goes around the rim. It shows best in photos 2 and 3 below. It's very clean and basically free from damage. Photos do not do this coin justice.
Congrats! And nice half. 1808 was the year before Jefferson left office, so this coin has seen some serious action. I'm about 27,000 posts behind you...
Getting close on posts but you're two and a half times my likes. You have a great error collection which I throughly enjoy seeing.
I'm limited in what I can do since my knee surgery and the weather outside is not warm enough to enjoy but it's doable for a few hours. It takes me all day to watch a DVD movie and then there CT.
Yeah, I'm guilty of being on the computer most of the day in the winters. Snowing and single digit weather outside as I type.
Beautiful toning!! Congrats bud!!! 29027 post you have to have knuckle replacements next for all that typing... lol.. your making me love bust half’s more and more!!!
They are a beautiful coin. I wish our coins looked like them today. No knuckle replacements for me. Lol
Congrats. I can't believe that coin only got a 15. I'm not real familiar with the series but I would expect the shield on the reverse to show more wear at that grade.
I was thinking it should be a 20 but I'm pleased with the coin as is. It's clean, real scratches or damage, a nice color and the reverse toning.
