    I concur...

Although, I kind of think he resembles the late Robin Williams a little here:
    Galba5.png
EGYPT, Alexandria. Galba. AD 68-69. BI Tetradrachm Dated RY 1 (AD 68).
O: Laureate head of Galba right
R: Veiled and draped bust of Eirene right, caduceus over shoulder.
    RPC I 5328
    upload_2020-12-12_20-10-56.jpeg

The goddess Eirene doesn't look too pleased herself in this two-for-one. Considering the turmoil of 68/69, not a whole lot of Pax Romana going on.

You can't really consider Carausius a handsome devil.

There are some great “ugly” coins shown so far in this thread.

@Cucumbor , that is the most unpleasant rendering of of Trajan I’ve seen.

@Bing , Julia Maesa has three chins going on. Haha

@IdesOfMarch01 , these coins are too beautiful to be ugly :wideyed:

@Shea19 , wow that is an incredibly scowl-ly Caracalla. Nice!

Here are a couple more “ugly” coins from my collection.

This is actually one of my favorite coins and a previous Saturnalia gift. All the same it’s hard to escape the fact that humans aren’t suppose to look like this.

I wouldn't say that Decentius is ugly, however I do think that his face stands out a bit:
    Decenzio .jpg
Decentius (350-353), Maiorina, Rome mint, 2nd officina.
Obverse: MAG DECENTI-VS NOB CAES, bareheaded cuirassed bust right, B behind.
Reverse: VICT D D N N AVG ET CAES, two Victories standing facing each other, holding between them a wreath inscribed VOT V MVLT X. Mintmark (unidentifiable) in exergue.

You want ugly? With props to @Orielensis for your post of your dinero of James II, medievals got y'all beat. Yes, with competition. But, No, a TKO, at least in the second round. COINS, FRANCIA, ROBERT II, DENIER, LAON.jpg
Francia, Robert II Capet (996-1031), denier of Laon, with the bishop of Laon on the reverse. Yes, those are both facing (hold your nose) 'portraits.'
