I think that I shall never see A poem lovely as a tree. A tree whose hungry mouth is prest Against the earth’s sweet flowing breast; A tree that looks at God all day, And lifts her leafy arms to pray; A tree that may in Summer wear A nest of robins in her hair; Upon whose bosom snow has lain; Who intimately lives with rain. Poems are made by fools like me, But only God can make a tree. -Trees, by Joyce Kilmer
Sorry, but I don't agree! It just one of our American Values. Here's another one.."I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, ONE NATION UNDER GOD, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Unfortunately, this also means Liberty and Justice for all the people that come here and hate us! Now let's look at the word VALUE... Webster Dictionary says Value as a Noun: 1. the regard that something is held to deserve; the importance, worth, or usefulness of something. 2. a person's principles or standards of behavior; one's judgment of what is important in life. As a Verb 1. estimate the monetary worth of (something). 2. consider (someone or something) to be important or beneficial; have a high opinion of. If a person is NOT willing to acclimate...they should go home! I am NOT going to change my American Values for the values of a different country...plain and simple! I will also say...95% of Americans feel the same way I do!
Quite.........now if I can only get the instructions on what the devil I have bought in English' Oh dear, there they are. Way down at the bottom of the packaging. Almost makes one wonder which country they are living in......But we seem (at least me) to digress. The major issue is mottos and not ethnicity.
While in Rome, do what the Romans do! Pretty simple isn't it. It doesn't say, while in Rome, try to overthrow it!
Correct! Let this be a warning to anyone who thinks they can come into this country and try to change it to their way of thinking. I don't mind them having a love for their country. But 1000's of men and women have died to protect the values we hold dear. I myself, will not allow those lives to be wasted in vain. This is the greatest country on earth, this is why everyone wants to come here. Now don't get me wrong, I don't mind people coming here. But come here the legal way. EDITED, Political and not subject of thread Ok...I am done. Thanks for taking the time to read my rant! Now, back to coins.
And to our local programming. Rome was not built in a day. The old man muttered that ad nauseum, but he was right.
Not to worry. It was the lead in the water that eventually did 'em in.........but hey! We still gots their laws.
