Picked up the 100, 50, 20, 10, 5 and 1 Peso for 1961 all high grades.........think I did OK......can't find a selling price for any 100 Peso notes on e-bay but I think one sold for about £100.
eBay don`t allow Cuban coins or paper money to be listed , especially if the word "Cuba" is in the listing, its all part of the Trade imbargo. If you manage to get one anywhere else don`t pay with Paypal if the word Cuba is mentioned because they will cancel payment and ban you. You are best searching other non US sites for completed sales to obtain a realistic price
Thanks for the info. Just saw a set similar grade to these at $300 but they had specimen on them. Don't know if having that they are more valuable or less.
I don't collect bills, but those are neat. Cuban money interests me because of the Embargo. I look forward to getting my hands on a bunch of their old coins (legally) some day in the future.
Some interesting examples of Socialist Realism on the reverses, especially the one showing nationalization of foreign companies. Apparently the personality cult of Fidel was already well established by 1961.
The Cuban 'specimen' sets were quite common in the late 1960s, in England. I suppose the Cuban government sold them to raise money. This is a case where the 'Specimen' examples are much more common than the non specimen notes. I did not see many of the circulating examples at that time.
