Does anyone here collect imperial eagles? Such as the ones found on german, russian, and austro-hungarian coinage? I'm interested and was wondering if anyone had maybe a website with these coins (like @Zohar444 's website of talers). Thanks! Post your variation of the imperial eagle (there are many).
Grand duchy Finland (Russian possession until 1917). Provisional Government type (eagle without a crowns).
I love that reverse! I have over 50 AV coins with the Imperial Eagles.... here are two examples... AV 1/4 Dukat 1765 Nagybanya Mint/Hungary/ Holy Roman Emperor Franz I AV 1 Dukat 1590 Prague Mint/Bohemia/ Holy Roman emperor Rudolf II
Thanks Sam. I became quite an avid collector of Russian Imperial coins about 5 years ago. I don't think I have a great collection but I have some 'interesting' coins. I wish I could afford some of their 'really desirable' coins.....maybe one day!!!
Thanks Sam/Wreath Crown...you have some pretty nice quality Russian Imperial! I now, will try to add some to my collector Here is my example... AV 5 Roubles 1857-CNb St. Petersburg Mint/Czar Alexander II
If my information is correct, the centre figure is St. George slaying the dragon and the others are coat of arms of the three subjugated kingdoms of Kazan, Astrakhan and Siberia and also of other major principalities/cities or other allied powers of the time.
