Quite real, VERY rare, worth more than what you spent in my opinion. I have a die match of this one - these are almost always found very worn. It is a keeper and a VERY good find. Blake

I just purchased another Septimius IMP X sestertius, this time on UK eBay, with an Adventus reverse. I will post it when received. I had foolishly consigned some of my more worn Septimius Severus sestertii some months back - these included an Adventus type with the inscription worn off that I thought was IMP VIII - but its obverse die is the same as the coin I just purchased which means it is IMP X - l would have kept the coin had I known

The Adventus type appears to share an obverse die with my Bonus Adventus - I can confirm that preliminary determination when it gets here. I’ll post all five of them on this thread.

Mr. Clay’s IMP X and other Septimius sestertii are being sold by Berk in a few weeks or so. I have my eye on one, most of the rest are beyond my means.
