Hi, under the same name at Wikipedia I'm one of the people who is trying to improve the coverage of numismatics there. Articles I've worked on include: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint-Gaudens_double_eagle http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buffalo_nickel http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peace_dollar and about eight or nine others that have made Featured Article, our top level Look, the reason I'm writing is that we need better quality images to match the improvement editors have made in the text. Type coins, in the best condition possible. We're relying on expired copyrights in old auction catalogs and random coin photographs we've been able to do. Some places we are short include: We could use Type 1 Buffalo nickel, both types Standing Liberty, a few good images of Walking Liberties, especially a 1916 with mintmark. But anything. You can see by the articles the state we're in. What we ask is that people release the images under a Creative Commons license such as the Cc-by-3.0 license available http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template:Cc-by-3.0 here. If you are willing to help out, I think it would be enough if you posted them to this thread, say that you took them and that you are willing to license them under the Cc-by-3.0 license. That is it. Thanks for your help.
Gots no problems if you want to use any of my images, though I have none of the ones you mentioned above. Well, maybe a "Peace" or two, but I don't believe I've imaged any. I do rather like this one and you fellows are welcome to kick it around the net if you like.
That's nice, but the Mint has a library of current issue images that are public domain. Thanks though!
If you would like you can use my beautiful 1922 Peace Dollar 12A Moustach Vam. I dont know what grade she is I have been told MS63 thru MS65 soon I will know for sure but I would love her to be well known around the world.
