I used to collect everything the mint had to offer and I had fun with it. I will buy some of what Carr has to offer but not his fake US coins. I'll put my money towards classic coins.

None of my banks will order solid date boxes, but the local CU which I'm not a customer of does.

They have the same issues for popular modern issues, if you don't care about moderns it's not an issue though

The only moderns i own are the 1990 eisenhower silver dollars, i only bought them because i thought they'd be a nice touch in my Ike set.

I just have to say that even I agree with this. As at least it seems Carr gives the collectors what they really want...

Oh come on Larry! You've played this game before. You've won some and you've lost some but isn't it supposed to be about the "coins"?

It is about the coins but I just give up. The mint does not care what collectors think. They keep showing that and collectors need to tell them to shove it. I'm happy with my modern collections but they all end as of now.
My money is better spent with classic coins with games that I can deal with.

I mainly only buy the east flips. Why not make a few bucks off them?

The mint has entirely too many offerings.

Too few. Just repackage too many of the same things over and over

And why the duplication on proof coins? Just sell the silver Half, Quarter and Dime separate. As bad as the cable companies. And I got rid of them for Roku and I love it.

I'm both modern and classical when it comes to collecting. Many of you know of my passion for silver eagles, but I must say, the passion is somewhat waning. I'm getting tired of sitting (hovering) at the computer, on release day, and biting my nails as to whether or not my order will go through. I'm giving serious thought about chucking all of my 'moderns' and concentrating exclusively on classic commem issues.

Through the years, I've been one of the staunchest supporters of the US Mint, but my opinion of them has somewhat changed as of late. I'll continue to order the year sets and silver eagles. Maybe even the upcoming silver medal issues, but I ain't gonna lose any sleep on not getting an particular issue because it sold out in six minutes. This stuff is really getting old with me...........better off hunting down exemplary examples of classics.

It's been quite a few years since I stopped buying Mint and Proof sets. These days I buy the cents I need from those sets on EBay.

Remember those days when they were offering Free shipping on returns ??? And also those days were pretty nice regarding buying coins from them without all these nonsense with the limited products in mintage. Also back in the days, there weren't so much products like now. Yeah the US Mint starting to look like the Canadian Mint.
