Yeah, yours is a bit Modern to me... Even Carthage had some cool Helmets: Carthage Iberia 218-208 BCE AE 13 1.4g Calco Barcid Military Mint 2nd Punic Tanit Helmet
That's a beautiful china cabinet, @cpm9ball ! I inherited one very similar to it from my dearly departed “Grammy.” Mine does not have the cool shorter section at the top. Awesome collection of glasses! I have a few vintage ones myself and I'd like to PM some pics to you when I find them. I hope you don't live in a part of the country prone to earth tremors! Sorry, that was an absurd statement
It took me quite a few years to find a furniture store that could make it for me. I had it customized by a business that sold furniture made by Amish craftsmen. The original design only had 3 shelves in the lower compartment. I had them modify it to accommodate 7 shelves. It holds about 1,000 shot glasses. Chris
Huh.. looking at it i would have guessed it to be an antique.. they did an excellent job! (and you did to on collecting)
Not actually a coin, but more of a medal.........honkin' hunk of silver, and I enjoy the design as well.
@cpm9ball I thought I had a photo of the Christmas tree made from empty Patron bottles outside the Solaria Cantina at the Gaylord Opryland Complex. It even changed colors. I was just guiding a group of 45 Scandinavians through LA, MS, and TN. I figured they would be blown away by the fantastic gardens as my wife and I were; they were but so many of them got lost so many times it was disconcerting to a third of them. I got lost, too, but since I didn’t see any dead bodies in the bushes I figured everyone finds their way eventually. Steve
Welcome aboard - although I'm a silver stacker (90% silver circulated USA coins), my oldest silver coin is a Mexico City minted 8 Reales from 1795 with chop marks similar to the photo below: Have fun, enjoy the CT community
The mint hasn't done much right the last few decades imho By the way, we ancient ones welcome you new ones to Coin Talk
@asheland - I always wanted to get into ancients when I stumbled upon this fine little group at the CT Ancient forum. As a group, they have the ability to suck people in like a well oiled cult. Give them a small opening and they will have you neck deep in ancients. That's what they did to me and I can't thank them enough!
Welcome from Wales! You'll love it here, best forum on the web for coins and more helpful experts than you could shake a stick at!
