I had joined a week or two ago and am finally getting around to posting something, even if it is just a reply. I work in a retail environment and am constantly sifting through the change at work. I have the luxury of buying all the collectible stuff at face value, though it isn't typically anything exciting. I have pulled Indian head pennies, buffalo nickels, Mercury dimes, all different types of silver coinage as well as wheats, and old jefferson nickels. On occasion I pull an interesting foreign coin out, the most memorable of which is a 5 mark German coin with a swastika on it. The most interesting coins I have pulled in recent years is a 1999 - D Jefferson Nickel which I sent into PCGS and got graded as a 100% struck through OBV MS-64 and the other day I pulled a $20 bill with the color shifting ink that had smeared. I am not the most knowledgable in regards to paper currency, so I am not too sure if the $20 is worth anything. I have had dealers tell me that the error nickel is worthless and others had a difficult time containing thier excitement. I have one dealer that lives in the Detroit area that I am considering letting him take the coin to one of the bigger shows that he frequents, and see what he can get for it.[/QUOTE]
