Found this fun little MAD cent in last night's box. It has been a good long while since I've found any type of decent error in a box from the bank.

The first 500 boxes are patience, anything after that is insanity. Great find and couldn’t happen to a nicer guy, I’m frog I mean. Lol

Nice one! Wish I could find one of those!!! Not several, just one!!! LOL

 

Overall, these modern coin errors are the flipside of ancients. With ancients all of the coins are flawed in some way. Getting a perfect strike on a perfect die with a perfect flan has got to be even rarer than modern coin errors.

 

And ancients are much more interesting. The history behind them is amazing.
Not much history (in the grand scheme of things) with a coin from 1983.

 

Surprisingly, I've not found many this off-set before. I prefer the ones with missing details like my favorite MAD find:


Also of note: The mint workers in 1983 were on something. They did a horrible job at QC.
