French gold Franc coins picked up over the last several weeks. I'm finding them a bit tough to get decent photos. Here we have 1858 5 Francs, 1912 10 Francs and 1860 20 Francs. And together to show the size differences. They also get thicker as they get larger. Extra points for appreciating the movie quote thread title! Rob
1. Mel Brook "History of the World, (part 1)"? 2. Yeah, gold is tough. They are so shiny light bounces off really bad. I posted pretty bad photos of my latest gold pickup. To reduce the glare I reduces overhead lighting and lit from the sides.
No direct (over the coin) lighting and don't use flash! Offset lighting just to illuminate the coin then adjust the view with your PC photo program (editing) to make it look like it does in hand viewing
Nice acquisitions you got there! As for the topic title, well, you know why British or Americans do not have an outrageous accent when they speak other languages? Because they speak, well, English. Anyway, I really like that 10 francs coin from 1912. Christian
