Well these have just arrived and been added to the online collection, let me know what you guy's think of them :thumb: Ikes 1974s 1976s 1977s 1978s Also if you are interested added some nice Dimes and a couple of other bits
I agree - LOL It is one of the few modern coins that really feels like you have somthing of worth in your hands. I have to catch up on your collection when I have a little time! . Hope all is well with you and yours (and the cats ) Darryl
It is remarkable how little attention they get. They're all tough in nice condition and this might be part of the problem; people just don't like the typical beat-up and poorly struck specimen and this doesn't lend itself to getting people interested in collecting them. I started collecting moderns in 1972 and didn't see my first gem Ike until 1978!!! I wasn't looking real hard because after looking at hundreds and hundreds of coins and never seeing anything that came close I just gave up. Finally I saw a really nice gem (MS-65+) 1977-P in a mint set and I started looking a lot harder. An MS-64 set looks pretty nice really but isn't a lot easier, just a lot cheaper. That's a really nice '72 and is a tough date to find attractive. It looks like at least a 64 to me.
Ruben if you look in my signiture you will see a link to my Omni collection just click on that and it will take you to them & a lot more LOL Sorry to say we have lost one of our cats recently Darryl but the other is making up for it LOL CK I think they are a lovely coin nearly on a par with the Morgan and for me better than the Peace dollar
I like you 1978 and the 1974. The 74 reverse looks like a double die, although these coins in high grade have reflections. You've probably already see these but http://www2.mrbrklyn.com/ikes.html Ruben
This may sound sick but true I had a couple of bags of silver about 250 face from like 1978 relative of gave to me (not sell) that I never opened up Mostly Walkers,Franklins,Kennedy 90% & 40% Washington quarters about a roll of standing libs that are beat about 2 rolls of Merc's and 2 rolls of FDR. A few silver morgans but also about 10 IKE's a few 1977 and 1978's Found some nice date Franklins and Washinton's like a 1938-S 1939-S many others.I still have about 95% to look at yet I have about 200 silver Ike's but not many clad Ike's .I'm keeping the 77 & 78 I found today Hidden for almost 30 years the Philly hoard

LOL they are nice arnt they, it gives them the feel of real money as opposed to some of the fiddly coins we have today
I've decided to stray alittle from nickels and am working on a set of IKES. Actually started in the last month or so, have picked up several nice MS65 IKES. Picked up 3 raw ones at the Baltimore show yesterday a 1972P which I think has a DDO.
That is a great 1992 Roosevelt Dime. Is that proof? Why save the 2007 Cents? Did they have a particular eye apeal? Ruben
I also never saw that Statue of Liberty half dollar before. THAT should be the design of the circulating $1. Extrodanary coin. I'm going to have to see if I can hunt one down now. Ruben
