I have questions about two coins. First two photos are of a raw 1971-P Ike I got out of circulation way back when you could do that sort of thing. Wondering how folks would grade it. Coin looks better than the photos (sorry for blurry pics). Second coin is a 1974-S Silver Proof. Wondering what folks think of the toning.
I don't think it's PVC Frank, I think it's 'haze'. Got a few brown box's that show this type of toning. One day I'm gonna bust one out and have a little fun with it.
Yup its haze. Conder101 has an.awesome theory about why brown ikes are so heavily effected by it. It involves coin dealers car trunks in the 70's
If the 1971 is MS, then the reverse photo is F12. There is no way to tell between MS & AU from that photo. I agree with @green18 that the proof has haze on it. Chris
the consensus on the board seems to be that when you have coins with haze on them, the best thing to do is get rid of them.
Their just bad image ( obverse ) .. The reverse is very strong, or early die state ...... Get with the program .. Lol ......
Looks like a die break coming off the bust and a crack running through the designer signature . Could be a good marker ......
