You should really learn how to grade since it appears you are struggling more then a fish out of water with your submissions. Are you just a troll about being a dealer or have you just been scamming people for 45 years? You mean you don't want them to point out that it is PMD and destroy your nonsense story?
Most of that was within the last year too, and really more like the last 8-10 months. It has a nice dividend, but the hedge fun guys can do a lot better with more volatile stocks than CLCT. Hopefully won't last 45 days here.
This thread has been a blast with certain people on the ignore list - guessing what banana brain said w/o having to read it. Thanks all - way more fun than cleaning out the gutters
While your frustrations with the TPGs are shared by many, myself occasionally included, the words you express your feelings with could be better chosen. PCGS is not declaring that someone altered the color, although there was a time when they annotated the return body bag either as "Artificial Color" or "Questionable Color". Today they use only the latter, which IS NOT an accusation. Therefore, I daresay PCGS is not placing itself in "lawsuit all(e)y", but you may be placing yourself there. I suggest you review your words, consider the potential implications of your writings, and decide if a little refinement might be in order before you hit the "Post Reply" button . . . I usually do.
You are paying PCGS to determine whether or not a coin is worthy of a numbered grade. YOU said that. The "details" slabbing is letting the market know that the coin is not worthy of a numbered grade. You are paying for the privilege of your coin to go through their system. Not that hard to understand if one is capable of thinking.
Reported. You have gone too far, proving that you are nothing but a troll. It's pretty apparent you are not who you say you are.
@Insider you are going to have fun reading this thread. I look forward to all of your colors and smileys.
Oh boy. Now you've gone and done it. Did you really have to invoke the emoji jester... Actually, maybe the troll will understand a language spoken in his own tongue?
@TypeCoin971793 I have been summoned. First I'm so embarrassed. I asked Fred to please join us here a while back. At first he declined as he is very busy helping collectors on other forums. I'm not speaking for him but I sensed he often gets sick of the ignorant responses he receives when offering help and did not wish to take on more of it. Thankfully he has joined us here and I hope he stays. USADealer, posted: "...I back up my posts with solid evidence. See one link herein of many more that are being concealed by the grading companies. https://www.google.com/amp/www.nbcn...ake-gold-silver-coins-flooding-market-n591201 I know exactly what I am talking about. Yes you do! Who do you think discovered the counterfeit bullion coins? Do do do do do do do do da do dado da do. Your time is up! USADealer, posted: "I'm confused..." YES, you seem to be. Perhaps, if you hang around here for awhile, you'll learn some things you can use in your coin business. "...I just found another thread on this board talking about perfect replica ikes. Although no images were found, the posts speak for themselves." Be careful what you read on Internet forums. Although there are some really informed, long-time numismatists who post, I have found there is a lot of misinformation posted by folks who are still at the learning level. Some of these virtually clueless posters have been dealers/collectors for fifty years. This Ike dollar link is an example of a coin that should not fool anyone; yet it will possibly generate a large number of opinions. Seattlite86, posted: "There you go again with your insults...God bless you and I'll be praying for you." Actually, Mr. GOTP policeman, No, there you go again. When trying to instruct a "rock-headed" student, I have found a sledge hammer to be more effective than a feather with a smile. PS Please include all of us in your prayers. USADealer, posted: "You cry babies refuse to answer the question of what makes a penny "questionable color..." The others must not have been clear enough. With your experience in the business they were probably assuming some things. I agree with you, they are the dummies for not making this simple to understand. Let me try: The color of your coin was questionable. My mistake. Sorry, that was not what you asked. The correct answer to your question is this:The grading service DID NOT KNOW what MADE the color of your coin questionable. USADealer thought all the graders are "experts?" USADealer, posted: "There is no such grade as "unquestionably color." On that I will agree. I've never seen that term used by any coin dealer, collector, or TPGS. "There is no such grade as "questionable color." Actually there is and you must have an example that we all wish to see! This tem is called a "qualifier." Many times coins with qualifiers are not graded or only given a numeric "details" grade PCGS is a SCAM...basically saying to the customer, "You or someone else altered the colors of the coin so therefore we cannot give the coin a numbered grade and good luck trying to sell it because you won't be able to with our questionable color rating." YES, YES! Now we are getting somewhere. See, this was simple and you have understood what happened the entire time. Now I'm the fool for wasting my time trying to explain what you already knew! Cascade, posted: "Why is this guy not banned yet?" This member reminds me of another woman who had the same sort of attitude. So I'm going to guess they give long-time women coin dealers a little more time to become adjusted. USADealer, posted: "Yes, look at the losers that responded with uneducated worthless comments.. LMFAO.." I'm ignorant of the computer shorthand. I did find out what LMAO means but what does the "F" stand for in LMFAO? "fat?" "free?" "funny?" "foolish?" Anyone have a longer "F-word?" PS For all who saw the post about the Chinese C/F shop. The coins from this place are JUNK that mostly fool only non-collectors. Most are too thick and granular with poorly shaped numerals and letters. The places making the deceptive fakes are probably as "clean" as just about any mint.
I like the part where he states that PCGS has only graded 32 million coins and that there's 300 million folks in the US! So 32 Million ain't no biggie! Nice comparison......................if there were 300 million coin collectors! LOL! I kinda wish there were 300 Million because then, the market would be scalding HOT! BUT, as it sits, there's probably less than a million active collectors and probably less than 10% of those that are serious collectors less than 10% of those that could actually submit coins for grading. Which kinda narrows the field a bit. Personally, I submitted 1,551 Coin for grading to a TPG. The bulk were to PCGS witha handful to ANACS and a couple to NGC. And I, am very small time compared to most Modern Submitters!
Of course , not true, you can be what ever gender you want on the internet, so they are treated the same. Why do most of you fall for this type of noise. Ignore it. You don't have to rebuke every comment, and it will desist or increase the intensity, which will be a problem for me. Insider, it hurts my feelings you think I am overly chivalrous. You know me better than that.
My guess is that most counter it simply because misinformation can be extremely dangerous in this hobby. It would be one thing if the garbage disappeared, but since it stays available for years, allowing it to stand without dispute can do more harm than good.
I agree, its the bane that came with printed material, no way to delete the outdated and wrong information from centuries ago, it is even occurring much faster than textbooks can be corrected. An errata supplement I received on a scientific textbook from 4 years ago, was 20 pgs of very small print. When I was in college, we were told knowledge doubled every 16-18 years. Last month the estimate was now 12-18 Months. Biotechnology/molecular medicine is ridiculous. We allow both sides their 'knowledge', as long as they stay within boundaries.
I'm sorry. I was hoping to extract more information but his mind was set o disparaging PCGS for no reason other than he could. And he ruined my danged thread!!
