I don't believe you can order these like Half dollars by the box. I used to buy Ikes from my local dealer at face until about 1-2 years ago because they just sent them to the bank. Last time I axed for them they said they at a buyer at $1.20 each but would sell them to me for $1,15 since I'm a look term customer. I don't want them bad enough to pay a 15% premium to use them as tips or a curiosity item...but I'd buy like $100 at face value and spend them just to get the cashier's reaction ! You can still order a box of halves from the bank, though ! It cracks me up when some girl at the cash register looks it over good and hard and stills axes me if it is a dollar ! If you look it over good you should see half dollar on the reverse pretty obviously, even if you born in 1995 and are only now starting your "career" at Walmart ! If you are colledge material then you should have enough leadership abilities to make a decision on your own and take the 50 cent coin or A $2 bill , or a modern small dollar coin without making a scene and calling for a supervisor and security. I'd love to get arrested for passing Counterfeit money at a W/M in the form of $2 bills, then sue edited them ! basic cashier training should include like some photos and explanation odd items you might get like Halves. Ikes mini dollars and $2 bills. The actual odd currency for examination would even better. No need to get into stuff like gold coins and half and large cents and 2/3 cent coins that would never be spent. Just mention and show JFK halves ( or earlier) Ikes, And the SBA, and Golden Dollars and $2 bills. You'll never find anybody spending anything odder than that ! I don't get how you can look at a JFK half for like a full minute, then Axe me if it is a Dollar !
