FretBoard is right, More people are starting to understand just how un-studied this series of coin really is and it is picking up in popularity. I think people like the idea of being on the ground floor of discovering just how rare these coins are in higher grades. It is unbelievable. A few points of interest in the Eisenhower series. 1. The Last Large Silver Dollar to be made by the U.S. Mint.( For Circulation) 2. Series is 30 plus years old. 3. For such a short Series of coin (8 years) there are many major design varieties and errors. Double Dies,Clashed Dies, Re-Punched Mint Marks, Entirely different Reverse Design changes inside one year of production (1971-D RDV-006 Friendly Eagle Variety)that have been found by regular collectors. That Most Third Party Graders refuse to recognize. which just boggles my mind. When you consider how fast they jump to attribute things such as the High and low leaf Wisconsin State Quarter and 2005 Speared Buffalo Nickel. . 4.Series has Copper-Nickel clad regular production for circulation and Proofs. Plus 40% Silver Business Strikes and Proofs. In just a 32 coin series. 5.Obverse Commemorates One of the Great Generals of World War II, who was instrumental in saving America from losing the war. 6.Reverse Commemorates one of Mankind's Greatest Scientific achievements in all of history, The Landing of a human being on another Planet. (I Know the Moon is not a Planet You Know what I mean I hope) The Eisenhower Dollar Series has been one of the most challenging and fun series of coins I have had the pleasure of being involved with. I have been collecting off and on since the mid 70's More on than off. Hope this gives you an idea why they are picking up in price. And this is just the Very Beginning for this series. Which is what makes it so much fun for me personally. I look forward to the day when talking to my Grandson or Granddaughter and say " I picked up that Ike for x amount of dollars and it is now going for xxxxxx amount". and Hearing "Wow Grandpa You are Old" Just my Two Cent Piece Terry
