Contrary to popular belive most people will give you permission to hunt their land (always ask!) if your upfront and honest about your intentions. This is my main hunting season before the ground gets too hard from them long southern sunny days. It can be an expensive hobby with the cost of some of the better detectors, but for me the thrill is more in the hunt and not the find.
