El Yunque is a great design as well. I don't care for Hawaii though - I don't think an eruption of lava translates well into coinage design. It looks like corrosion.
I like the Hawaii, but when you enlarge it to the size of the 5 oz coin, the lava in the middle of the eruption looks pixelated. I know it's odd, and no, it's not the image, it's the coin: So, for the 5 oz coin, I'd also go for Acadia.
The only thing this thread reminds me of is my LCS has a set of this nicely toned in the OGP. Wish I had the budget to buy the whole set.
True, But , think of all of the questions we will see here about eBay descriptions of extra lava bombs from die chips worth great deal of $$$, and also the interesting toning effects this issue could have there eventually.
I would have to say anyone but the Hawiii. The design is too simplistic. Looks like anyone could have carved that die. Sorry to offend.
No offense taken. You have an opinion and I/we have an opinion. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Howdy, I've finally started to participate and will go for those that I've seen in person. I bought Acadia and just ordered a Hawaii. Still have to go back and pick up Yosemite and Yellowstone and go from there. It gives me a purpose other than just silver bullion peace, rono
Gotta agree. Although the pucks are great looking coins they have not appreciated in price yet and it will be quite a wait until they do. It's your money, but I would buy something else.
