If you could go back in time and grab one handful of treasure...

I agree. It's a variation on the "butterfly effect" concept; a small change can affect the whole ecosystem...in this case now rare dates become common and one or more of the common dates become rare!

One place/time i would like to go to is 1930's. I would like to see the random money for the Lindbergh kidnapping. For those who don't know it was 50,000 in gold certificates. Very cool to see. While I'm there, i would collect the neglected fingerprints on the ladder to be sure Hauptman did/didn't do it.

Honestly, traveling back to any time in the 1800's and just spending money and getting change back would be fun. It would be so fun to get seated/bust/barber coins for change.... not to mention any gold coins!

I thought about doing a "grab" of many rare coins, but if you were to do that, then the coins would no longer be rare and the values would be much less than they are today. Just sayin'.

    Many might find this interesting,

DNA isn't constant from generation to generation. Every time human DNA is passed from one generation to the next it accumulates 100–200 new mutations, according to a DNA-sequencing analysis of the Y chromosome.

About another 3-8% of human DNA is Endogenous retroviruses (ERVs). and are viral genes or portions in the DNA, and we know very little about their actions in relation to our own DNA. Some microbiology researchers think that life on earth originated through their replication processes even though they were once thought 'non-life', just chemical reactions; now most think of them as "noncellular life form" as they use cells of other organisms as their factory and most new microbiology books follow that thinking

The consideration is that the DNA /geneology tests are of high enough coverage to indicate a few generations commonality such as maybe great-great grandpa, but not back much farther unless you are testing a whole cohort ( tribe of humans that have been fairly isolated ( non-modern).

I would get a handful of 1/2 cents minted in the late 1700's!

1932. For the first time you could order uncirculated examples of coins directly from the mint, from variety of years from 1908 to 1932. This included such rarities as the 1927D double eagle.
