I feel better now. The mint has posted a message saying that it is taking them 4-5 weeks to process all orders. Apparently, they are overwhelmed by all the new coins that someone decided to make and they forgot to hire people to make, QC, warehouse, ship, and invoice them. Remind me again of the plethora of cents, quarters, and dollars that they are making in 2009.
The contract shipper is Pitney-Bowes out of Indiana.....and they are terrible !!!! Last year my orders were taken in Houston and shipped from Memphis. I never had problems with shipping FEDEX VS UPS..... FEDEX didn't leave my gold coins in the bushes. I never had problems with tracking orders.... Always HAD my coins in less than 4 weeks, usually 2 weeks.... Never had to wait 15 minutes or more each time I called the Mint.... I know there have been hundreds if not thousands that have called and complained about this.......I hope Pitney-Bowes gets their act together soon or they might not get a contract renewal.... THESE GUYS PACK AND SHIP ALL ORDERS
This is now on the front page of the US Mint retail site...... https://answers.usmint.gov/cgi-bin/usmint.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=205 Think we hit a nerve......
