    @octavius - Thanks for starting this thread. Here is the only relevant coin in my collection.

    Here are two coins for the Ides of March - both from the time period leading up to the events of 15 March 44 BC.

    The first promoting Julius Caesar's divine origins and struck in North Africa to pay for his campaign against the Pompeians.

    Obv: Diademed head of Venus right, wearing earring and pearl necklace
    Rev: CAESAR to right, Aeneas walking left, holding palladium and Anchises
    Ref: Crawford 458/1; Sydenham 1013; RSC 12
    Size: 3.81g, 17-18.8mm

    And one from 46 BC with a curule chair on the reverse representing the powers granted to Caesar by the senate:

    Obv: Laureate head of Apollo right
    Rev: C. CONSIDIVS / PAETVS Curule chair, garlanded, on which lies wreath.

Border of dots / Pontifical emblems - culullus, aspergillum, axe and apex. Border of dots. Crawford 443/1; Babelon Julia 9; Sydenham 1006.

    The Liberators, AR denarius(19mm, 3.71 g, 6h). Gaius Cassius Longinus, Imperator with Publius Cornelius Lentulus Spinther, Legate, late 43-early 42 B.C., military mint with Cassius and Brutus, possibly Smyrna. Head of Libertas right, wearing veil and diadem; before, LEIBERTAS upwards; behind, C•CASSI•IMP updwards. Border of dots / Jug and lituus; below, LENTVLVS SPINT in two lines. Border of dots. Crawford 500/5; Sear HCRI 223.
