I didn't even know how to begin to Google this one. Your help is appreciated. Thanks. P.S. My apologies if the obverse is upside-down.
Thanks, @paddyman98! Where did you find that? I looked on Numista and couldn't find this coin. Even Googling *now* for "25 Qirsha" only brings up an Egyptian one. Adding "Syria" to the search doesn't work, either. This is another reason I love CoinTalk and CRH'ing. It's like a box of chocolates... you never know what you're gonna get. Edit: I searched for "Syrian coins", which led me back to Numista, then I scrolled 'til I found the one you posted. Google Translate tells me that the first inscription is just as your post said (translated literally to "Syrian Arab Republic"). The reverse translates to: "25 Piasters 1287 1968 Syrian Arab Republic"
Doug....I use Numista's "special keyboard" when searching Arabic coins. Took some time to learn their numerals! Try it out if you haven't.
