I struggle with identifiying a byzantine coin from Alexandria. It is hard to see it from photo, but if you hold it on hand and shed some light from a certain perspective you definitely can se a "NV" on obverse side at 2 oclock marked with red alphabet. It could stand for "IVSTIANVS" but it could also stand for "IVSTINVS". - (Justinian and Justin) However giving that the "NV" stands at 2 oclock on my coin, i think it could be Justinian. Because if it was Justin II, the NV would be at 12 oclock. Right? My coin: From wildwinds, Justinian sear 247: the "NV" at 2 o'clock From wildwinds, Justin II sear 389: the "N" at 12 o'clock I dont know if Justin I(the first) have minted any 12 nummi at Alexandria, I can't find any at wildwinds. So can I be 100% sure that my coin is a Justinian just from the fact that the "NV" appears at 2 oclock?
