I have been trying to figure this one out for years! I considered at first that the stop between the E & R would indicate the legend starting at the R and that it read R I C L A M E or R I G L A M E but now looking at the photos perhaps the third letter is an S on its side? Making it R I S L A M E or something like that... and perhaps there is a stop within the legend that can no longer be seen and the legend may start somewhere within and not at the R. It is quite small - sized about 14mm-15mm & 0.5g. Appears to be the same on both sides. And thoughts & input appreciated
It looks like Medieval or Renaissance coin from Europe. RIS- LA- ME.etc.. We need to check these abbreviations in the old catalogs. That's just a thought.
