Hello, this coin has me perplexed, I don't know the weight, only that it is bronze and is approximately 18mm I appreciate your help in advance.
Ancient? Wouldn't this coin be in the World Coin forum? It actually might be a little light because of the excessive wear. A date would help also I would think. At least you know a couple of things, The weight and the composition. Now we need to figure out denomination, no? I would strongly recommend trying Numista.com.
It is more perfectly round, like a milled coin rather than an ancient. I suppose India is as good a guess as any, but unfortunately I'm stumped on this one. I will say that from the appearance of it and the roundness, I'd estimate it to be less than 500 years old. That's not much information, I know, but that's all I've got.
While we're at it, is this coin the same? The knot pattern is losanges, not squares... Thanks in advance !
Fantastic. how fast!!! jtlartgallery I thank you very much for your time and identification. I looked some more, with your data and I find that there would seem to be many similarities and difficulty in differentiating it from AHMAD I . AE MANGHIR. MISR (EGYPT) MINT. 1603 - 1605 A.D. What do you think? Thanks again. Best regards to all.
I think you might be right Ahmad I.I think the arabesque is similar for both rulers but the 2 lines at the top on the reverse point to Ahmad.
Thank you very much. I got them (I have another similar one) but had forgotten it in a batch of “trinkets” to identify. I got into the Greek and Roman ones and then forgot about these. Now since I can't buy anything, I'm catching up with the ones that were left “hanging”.... thousand thanks, I leave them as Ahmad I, you know more about this than I do. By the way the one from GinoLR looks like the same type, but at this point of seeing databases, I think my eyes see what they want to see.... A hug from Argentina.
Hello: here is a link, I guess you know it but if not, there is a lot to investigate. Best regards. https://www.zeno.ru/search.php?searchid=101894
