this coin I bought today and it is in very good quality and in my opinion this is a barbaric imitation.
Looks official to me. A simple Constantine the great votive from, I presume, Thessalonica. What makes you think it’s barbaric?
Pretty much looks like all of these: https://www.vcoins.com/en/Search.as...cords=100&SearchOnSale=False&Unassigned=False
Here's mine from the Aquileia mint: Constantine I, AD 307-337. Roman Æ Centenionalis, 2.59 g, 18.4 mm. Aquileia, AD 321. Obv: CONSTAN-TINVS AVG, laureate head right. Rev: D N CONSTANTINI MAX AVG, laurel wreath around VOT XX; ·AQ · below. Refs: RIC vii, p. 404, no. 85; RCV 16216; Cohen 123.
Gavin, I thought that with the portrait of Constantine the barbarous nose and the font on this monte seemed to me barbaric
Constantine portrait styles vary widely. Plus, the lettering seems really good for a Barb. I think it’s authentic. I’ll let others weigh in.
thanks for the options you provided this coin, so on my coin between the letters and numbers in the wreath there are no dots or it did not strike.
In the list I sent, you can see a couple without the dot. Like this: https://www.vcoins.com/en/stores/ce...x_avg_vot_xx__thessalonica/77872/Default.aspx If you still don't like your coin, you can send it to me.
