Personally I think I would of ponied up another 5-10 dollars and got one with a date, but for $5 ea you cant' go wrong.
Now, green, I think Tim has a point. Perhaps sometimes one should wait and double or triple what one would spend on one coin and wait for a really nice coin to come along to add to your collection.
I bet that some of our copper guys could still cipher out a date on these using other features that are still visible. Those guys boggle my mind.
It was a joke son.......
I can't agree more. I'm starting to learn this myself. Wait until you can afford what you like, don't just throw away money on whatever passes you by, otherwise your just gonna have a box of low value coins, instead of a few nice ones. But on the other hand, if you think you can make a little money on the deal, then buy the coin. When you have more money, sell the coin and use what you have from the sale, and your savings, to buy something better. Instead just saving $10 every now and then, buy a $10 coin, then when you have 20 of them saved up, sell them for $250 and buy something nice. You can't go wrong that way. I've bought a few low-end coins over the weekend, but I know once I save up more, I can flip them and get something better. That way instead of seeing $100 in the bank, I'm seeing $100 worth of low grade, but old, historical coins. I'd rather have a little history then green notes.
Shoot Tim. I never buy in mind as to what the future might bring. Oh dear, never mind. Naughty me......
I got 3 in similar shape for $10 last year. A bit more detail, but dateless. I give them away and use one as a pocket piece.
For $10 I don't have a problem with the purchase. And yeah someone line conder or marshall could probably figure out the date with nice clear pictures.
