I had a couple cool things happen today at the bank, so I thought I'd share. First, I went to the bank and got $200 in half dollars, then made a withdrawal and the teller told me that she had something real special for me, she then whipped out a 1966 $100 red seal note, in pretty good condition. I've never kept any paper money before, but this one's in pretty nifty, so I'll keep 'er.

So I got home, popped open the my 20 rolls of halves, out of the 20 rolls, I had 5 complete rolls of 1965-1969, no 70's, but I'll take it. I went back to the bank to give them back my extra change and halves. My bank has a coin counting machine that I drop my coins in, then when it is all done counting, it prints off a receipt and I take it to the teller. For some reason the machine wasn't taking one of my halves. I printed off my receipt and took it to the teller, along w/the coin that wouldn't go. After looking at it for a little while, she said it was fake.

She took a real half and banged it on the desk, then took the fake and banged it on the desk, sounded just like plastic. I asked her if I could keep the fake, and she said I could. So, right now I have a 1972-D half dollar that looks real, except for the fact that when you bang it on something it sounds plastic. I'll post pics tomorrow. I thought it was pretty cool because it was the first one that I'd found, do you guys know of what it might be worth. I'm guessing nothing, but it looks like the real deal.
