ALHAS, For me, it would depend on how many kids that you have. If you have 3 kids say, buy the same coin for each. Many times, when a parent passes on, there is a battle for his or her estate. Buying the same coin, of the same value, for each of your kids will stop any battle for that particular area of your estate. If you only have one child, then there is no problem. BUT, how can the children split up a 4 coin set equally? Just a thought you might want to consider. swick
speedy, I was reading the responses so fast that I missed the "wouldn't" part assuming it read "would"! Now that I paid more attention to your response, could you please explain why you would not prefer to buy any option on the list provided. May I assume that you prefer old historic coins than the modern ones? I thank you all for your views.
The 10th anniversary plat set is a once in a lifetime opportunity. You can buy eagles, maple leaves and buffaloes any year. You only have one shot at the plat set at issue price. Don't let it pass you by. Come this time next year when that set is selling for $5-$6,000.00 you will be sitting pretty with the beauty of hindsight being 20/20. Otherwise, this time next year you would have $1500 in an eagle, buffalo or maple leaf and thinking "if only I had of bought the plat set."
