    That central punch mark sort of kills it for me. I don't think it's a "Chinese chop mark" either, although I'm not an expert on those.

    At least the seller was honest about the coin. Good on him.

    There was another altered date 1799 that sold for crazy money a few weeks back, even though it was sold as an altered date.
