I thought both the seller and the TPG were sharper than this . . .

Thanks for the side-by-sides, @Jack D. Young . You definitely have me second-guessing myself. I thought the subject coin looked very "helped" when I spotted it, and now am somewhat less sure.

The lack of blending and the uniformity of width of many recessed areas on the subject coin still defy my expectations of natural wear, and my suspicion remains. Perhaps it's the lighting, as the angles of incidence are slightly different in the two sets of images. I just went back to see if I could buy the coin for study and conclusion, but it's been de-listed.

I realize both PCGS and DLRC have had the benefit of examining this coin in-hand, so I'll take my medicine and, lacking the same opportunity, call this one a false-alarm.

Sorry folks . . . too quick on the draw.

I’ve been struggling with this thread myself. It did seem the details seemed slightly enhanced. But I couldn’t see any obvious signs of it. I kept going back and looking from time to time for the obvious tell. And I still didn’t see it. All I was thinking was there’s a die variety I’m not catching that made it a tell. I know seated coinage pretty well. But not a die variety specialist
