    I agree with Ed’s input. I’ll add that the coin appears to be environmentally impacted as well.

    Stick with it and take in the input from the community here. You’ll gain in understanding what to look for and what to ignore. As we see with others that come to CT, folks can be overwhelmed and can get wrapped around the axel.

    I'm not sure if this my post? maybe their are two real slick?
    Let me know and i'll changed it OK? On the 1992 penny here are four 1992 pennies which one is the error coin?

    I think I'm replying to posted v nickle, for I have one and wondering if anyone can tell me if this is a rare coin? Sorry about the pictures I can not get a full coin in it.

    Go to whichever forum you want to post on, error coins, coin chat, US coins or whichever you want. At the top of the page is a blue rectangular button, click on it and make your post.

    You're correct that, technically, it still could be a 1992 (though statistically unlikely). If you sent it in to a TPG (third-party grading) service, I'm not sure what they would tell you, but it's probably not worth the money. I would suggest analyzing the obverse die design features with these sites: Link 1 and Link 2. Dr. Wiles has done a great deal of research on design changes throughout the years. 1992 cents will have a slightly different obverse design than other years, but it takes a keen eye and close analysis to really recognize it. If you have the time, try your luck with it!
