Judging the seller, it probably was cracked out of a details holder.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

That seller is trouble, everyone knows that.

However, the coin itself appears to be high AU and may even be UNC (of course, it probably has problems hidden in teh pictures). You have to remember, many cents of the 20's and 30's were struck with ridiculously worn out dies.

I'm sorry but I don't see a BU designation either. Many marks in the fields on both the obverse and reverse of this coin. It looks like the seller used conserve or some other chemical to give this coin that 'wet' look.

    Seems oily. EF/AU details.
I guess the idea is to take a $20 coin (if it's not details) and try and sell it
    for 11x that price.

Yep, not a surprising price tag considering the seller. I wouldn't pay $10 for that canker sore. Coin is eons away from anything even remotely classified "AU". Sadly, these guys know that for some, shine sells, and they will eventually fetch an exorbitant sum for their junk.

I never dealt with Great Southern Coins but did not know they were bad news.

It was once BU - I would guarantee that.
