You are new, and it is understandable that you don’t know the qualifications of the various members, but you have received feedback from many experienced numismatists. Contrary to some of your responses, these are not trouble makers hanging out in basements, nor are they some guys on the corner throwing out an unsubstantiated opinions, they are well respected collectors and numismatists.

How can I say this? Overtime, these members have answered questions and responded to posts with high levels of numismatic knowledge. The have built their credibility by the quality and accuracy of their answers. Comments like “who are you . you are no expert . we don't know who you are .you have no proof. you could be so weir dow” indicates that you aren’t familiar with them". “WE” know who they are, and “WE” know who is knowledgeable an who is blowing smoke. In addition, it’s not hard to determine if a new member is a newbie or experienced collector based on the responses to specific numismatic topics.

Based on the information you provided, I don’t believe you’ve shown that your coins were switched. If you go back and reread the posts asking for specific information and clarification, and provide that info clearly and concisely, you’ll have a better chance to convince others. Remember, you are claiming something that is an unlikely scenario, so you really need to have all your ducks in a row to convince others. And don’t forget, banging on the table telling others they are wrong when you haven’t supported your claim is a good way to open yourself to ridicule on an anonymous forum. Not saying it’s right, just saying that’s the way the world works.

It's the old switcheroo. Famous in song and story. A little old lady brings in a
diamond ring to be cleaned, and they switch the good stone with a crappy stone.
She will never realize and even if she does, they will just claim that's the same stone she came in with.
Now a multi million dollar company is switching coins, risking their business and reputation to make a couple of hundred dollars on the side. Seems reasonable.

This is an interesting thread. The S mint mark looks like one of the S/S VAM varieties when enlarged. I also enlarged the other pictures and the pictures showing the PMD near the E are of the same coin. There are other diagnostics in those pictures that indicate the same forensic diagnostic analysis. I've consulted for authorities on counterfeit and altered coins and have given my expert opinion in Court. I see no difference and would testify as an expert witness that the pictures are of the same coin. I have been collecting coins for 64 years and have never had a coin "switched" at a TPGS. I'm sure many of the older collectors on Coin Talk can attest to the same. The coins and pictures in question, clearly indicate a non actionable case.

  18. there was a guy in california ed call me to say this happen to him to. there are people emailing or calling me about my story . 4 from texas, two for missouri, two from ohio . so i'm not the only one . we are trying to put sometime together to bring lite on this .

  19. you seem to be a smart man . if you sent in coins and they came back different would you know, if yes . what makes you think i don't know the difference. what about the cracked case, who crack my case , the hole in the e and the other e this different. inner reed on bottom pic gold peice is weak and the top is strong, did you see that.

If true, I'm sure these folks will figure out that your claim is false.

You seem to be a smart man (sorry, but that statement is a deflection and a manipulative statement).

But, step back for a minute.
Let's say you were in Court and had to prove to a Judge (or Jury) and as they say, "Beyond a shadow of a doubt" that your coin was switched at the TPG.

How do you go about doing that (for simplicity)?
    (1) you have to have "Before" pictures, that you can prove were "before" pictures and have clear and total review of the coin. PLUS if you had proof of the acquisition.
    (2) you have to prove that the pictures that you have, were the coin that was sent in.
    (3) you have to prove that the package was not tampered with during shipment to or from the TPG .. you seemed to have mentioned at one point that the (3a) shipping clerk "took interest", plus the slab may have been tampered with.

You seem to be missing (1) and (2).
But let's just say if (1) & (2) was proven, you have thrown suspicion that it could have been switched outside of the TPGs possession.
With (3), why would a TPG tamper with their own slab ??

If you proved (1) and (2), with (3/3a) i'd have to think it was changed while in shipment.

For instance, when I ship a coin I'll actually cell phone video me packaging up the coin including shipping label on the box. If I had a really high value coin I might send them pictures via email of the coin I'm shipping and ask them to confirm once they got it.

that would create a good "trail" and authenticity of the complaint.
And *never* talk to anyone about shipping coins/money.

Your blurry photos, to be blunt, aren't worth anything.
Your statement, with lack of good photos is just heresay.

fyi, I'm not a lawyer; nor a court type coin expert. But if you've ever been in court then use that experience to what you are saying and presenting. There is nothing there that we can side with you on.
