Last night they found a 1828 half cent and an 1856 3 cent nickel!!!!!

 

More likely an 1865, 3 cent nickel.

 

If it was an 1856 3c.,then it would be the silver one,but there was a period in which both the silver & cupro-nickel 3c. coins were being issued.

Update!!

My buddy brought me 56 Ike dollars, some '76 type 1's and 2's. $10 face silver dimes. $24 face 40% halves. About 4 rolls worth of pre-'60's nickels. 3 rolls of '76quarters. 50 world coins. And the Wheat cents that I'd been waiting for. This bag weighs about 15lbs. plus. I am in heaven. I just sorted it and only skimmed the dates. This might take awhile!

Yeah....you will have made a profit...even on melt value if they all are like that !
