Just from what I've found out: Excelsior Collectors Guild is a marketing company that produces "collector's items"...mainly stamps, but have done coins, currency and collector's spoons. The stamps were in similar albums and you would purchase each page for your album for about $20 and you received two per month. Sets with forty pages valued at $800 sold for under $300 at various auctions or in some cases there were no bids. I would assume this is the same with your set. Originally probably sold for $20 per page. The actual value of the items on each page is more than likely between $1 - $5. I would say more than likely closer to $1. To get a value for resale if you didn't want to go the ebay route (and maybe get lucky), I would estimate each page at $1.50 X the number of pages and add about $10 for the albums. Personally, I wouldn't pay more than that.
sets the first 2 albums have 25 countrys didnt count how many are in the third but not as many. some coins are in the 1950's and 60.s as well as some notes are pre 1990 which it states the set was put out..i paid 375 for the set of 3. but all certified as official govt currency. not sure if some country's changed names since that period or not. or joined other country's. but i guess for the right collector its kool. but for me i have decided to concentrate on my canadian and newfoundland.collection. and some select united states coins..maybe i should just check if any auctions in canada would handle this. and if so hope i can get my money back lol.. thank you so much for the info
