    yorkiedad5,
Illini has it exactly right, Not every one knows about all the varieties of all the coins in any given group.
Example: I was bidding on a 1971-D Eisenhower RDV-006 (Friendly Eagle Variety) a couple of weeks ago. for some reason I had a gut feeling about this particular coin so I made sure I won it went VERY HIGH on my bid and hoped for the best. Ended up getting it Very Very inexpensive. This person even knew it was an RDV-006 and was listed as such in the auction. I received a short time later, gave it a quick once over and set it aside on my desk. The following week I happen to remember that there are some varieties inside the 71-Ds and I gave it a very close inspection and it turns out that not only an RDV-006 but it also a 1971-D DDO-001 , DDR-001.
The moral of the story follow your gut instincts they are there for a reason and above all have fun because without FUN in this HOBBY it is just another part time job.
Good luck with the group of coins coming your way

    Bill,

Can't wait to see what you get. I'm with you 100%, lots of fun with almost zero risk considering what you paid. I don't see any proof coins. A lot of people who don't know what they're talking about erroneously call coins that are in mint sets proof coins, and it does look like there are three coins in cello. If that's the case, that may even better your odds as it means the guy has no true clue what he has.

it's funny you say that, because i go and unload about 20-40 magic the gathering cards into my ebay store before pulling the old wool over the coin victims eyes :)

Good for you for having a little fun for a small monetary investment. One time I bought a roll of "unsearched" buffalo nickles for about $20. Of course I was hoping for something cool, like a 3 legger, but I found nothing of ANY value. It was fun sifting through the roll though. My only good ebay gamble/outcome was getting a 1926S mercury in a "junk" silver lot (that I got for less than melt).

Well, if he doesn't know a mint set from a proof set, then he doesn't know a 1955 DDO, much less a 1992 CAM.:thumb:
